Trauma Informed Therapy

When we experience trauma, its impact can linger - not just in our thoughts, but in our bodies, relationships, and sense of self. Trauma-informed therapy recognises that healing doesn't require reliving the past, but rather changing how it continues to show up in the present.

 

As a trauma-informed counsellor, I work with care and sensitivity to help you understand how trauma may be affecting your body and mind. We explore its legacy gently, at your pace, using education, emotional regulation, and grounded connection to rebuild safety, self-trust, and resilience.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy offers a gentle yet powerful way to work with the subconscious mind - where deeply rooted patterns, beliefs, and behaviours are often held. It can support meaningful change by creating space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

 

In our work together, we’ll use evidence-based techniques to help you shift unhelpful patterns, calm anxiety, build confidence, or reconnect with your inner resources. Sessions are tailored to your needs and can include guided imagery, relaxation, and tools for use between sessions.

Rewind Technique

The Rewind Technique is a gentle, effective approach often used to treat trauma, phobias, and anxiety-related responses. It is non-invasive, meaning you don’t need to describe the traumatic experience or event in detail.

 

While you rest in a deeply relaxed state, I will guide the process, helping your brain and body begin to unhook from the emotional charge of the memory, allowing it to be reprocessed safely and calmly.

 

It’s a fast, respectful method that can bring real relief without needing to relive distressing events.

Working with Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to perceived threat, but sometimes the brain misreads the signals, keeping you in a heightened state even when you're not in danger. This can feel confusing, overwhelming, and exhausting.

 

Through extensive training in anxiety and the nervous system, I help clients understand what’s happening in both their brain and body. Together, we explore simple, effective tools to soothe your system, break unhelpful patterns, and help you feel more in control.

In therapy, we gently explore where these beliefs began and how they still live in you today. This isn't about fixing you — it's about reconnecting with the parts of you that were taught to stay small.
